Billing and usage
Coraltalk plans control features, student seats, and metered resources such as oral learning minutes, TA credits, and lecture recording where applicable.
Class-level billing
Independent teachers often subscribe per class from Class settings → Plan & billing:
- View current plan
- Upgrade (may take effect immediately via Stripe)
- Downgrade (may apply at period end; some downgrades are blocked, e.g. certain pro to textbook switches)
Organization billing
School admins use Billing & Subscriptions in the org sidebar for institution-wide contracts or pooled usage.
Teachers may still see class usage summaries when approaching limits.
Usage meters
Common meters shown in UI:

Alerts appear in the class sidebar when a large fraction of minutes is consumed — follow prompts to buy more minutes before assignments stall.
Renewal
Usage lines may show renewal dates (for example, "Renews on" plus your next billing date) for periodic minute pools.
Students and payment
Some classes require student payment at join time (self-serve enrollment). Students complete checkout before accessing assignments.
