Getting started overview

Coraltalk helps educators move beyond written-only assessment: students speak with an AI tutor, complete oral assignments, and practice real-world scenarios while you get transcripts, rubric scores, and class insights.

Account types

TypeDescription
Independent teacherPersonal account without a school organization. You create classes directly from home.
School / organizationMembers belong to a Clerk organization. Admins manage team, billing, and org-wide settings. Teachers work inside courses that contain classes.
StudentJoins via class code, invite link, or Canvas LTI. Sees assigned work and the student view of the TA.

First login: where you land

After sign-in, Coraltalk sends you to the right starting point:

Teachers (first 30 minutes)

  1. Sign up as an educator and complete syllabus upload (or create a course + class if you are in a school org).
  2. Open your class Summary dashboard — explore Oral Test, Roleplay, Vid tickets, and Customize TA cards.
  3. Customize your TA with tone and knowledge.
  4. Create an oral assignment or share your student join link.

Students

  1. Sign up or sign in.
  2. Join a class with the code from your teacher.
  3. Open Oral Learning (or the activity your teacher assigned) from the class sidebar.

School administrators

  1. Create or join the organization.
  2. Invite teachers from Team.
  3. Configure Canvas LTI if you use Canvas.
  4. Review billing and usage.

Languages

The Coraltalk app supports English, French, Arabic, Italian, and German in class settings. Arabic enables right-to-left layout. Help center articles are in English for now; localized docs may be added later.
