Vid tickets

Vid tickets are asynchronous video activities: you post a question, students record short video answers, then peers may reply when you unlock discussion. AI generates transcripts to speed review.

Think of it as structured video discussion — similar in spirit to Flipgrid, integrated with Coraltalk's class roster and analytics.

When to use vid tickets

  • Icebreakers and weekly reflections
  • Demonstration assignments (show your work on camera)
  • Peer feedback after initial responses
  • Quick checks without full oral exam rubrics

Create a vid ticket

  1. Open Vid Tickets in the class sidebar.
  2. Create a new ticket with prompt text, due date, and reply rules.
  3. Publish and share with the class.

Student workflow

  1. Open the ticket and record a video response.
  2. Wait for teacher to enable peer replies if configured.
  3. Reply to classmates' videos when unlocked.
  4. Edit own submission only where edit links are provided.

Teacher workflow

  • Monitor submissions on the ticket detail page
  • Open students view for completion tracking
  • Share a public vid-ticket link for special entry flows when provided
  • Review AI transcripts alongside video

Some tickets support links like /vid-ticket?id=... for direct access — ensure students are signed in and enrolled.

Retention

School orgs may enable automatic deletion of vid ticket recording files after a set period. Transcripts and grades typically remain — see org video retention settings.
