Live oral exams
Beyond async oral assignments, Coraltalk supports live oral exam experiences — scheduled sessions where students complete high-stakes oral assessments in a proctored-style flow (often with real-time video infrastructure).
Async vs. live
| Oral assignments | Live oral exams | |
|---|---|---|
| Scheduling | Start anytime in window | Scheduled slot / exam room |
| Typical use | Homework, formative checks | Summative exams, certification-style |
| Entry | Class → Oral Learning | Exam link (/exam/... with exam ID) |
Accessing a live exam
Students usually receive a link containing an exam ID. After sign-in, Coraltalk routes to /exam/ followed by that ID.
Teachers configure exams from oral learning or dedicated exam management flows depending on your institution's template.
Before exam day
Students
- Test microphone and camera in the same browser you will use (Chrome or Edge recommended).
- Sign in with the email on the roster.
- Join from a quiet location with stable internet.
Teachers
- Confirm roster and accommodations.
- Share the exam link only through secure channels.
- Run a dry run with a colleague account.
During the exam
Follow on-screen instructions. Do not refresh during an active session unless support advises. Coral conducts the oral interaction according to the exam configuration.
After the exam
Submissions flow into the same review tools as oral assignments where applicable — grades, transcripts, and evaluation status.
Roleplay minutes and billing
Live and roleplay sessions may draw from shared oral learning / roleplay minute pools. Monitor usage under class or org billing views.
